The Hungry Moon is one of my favorite novels from that time (the other is Ancient Images, also highly recommended) Fantastic, well worth tracking down. I recall that interview made mention that John Carpenter was interested in making the book into a movie That would be pretty interesting, but I don't see it happening anytime soon/5(32).

The bane County books and lam talking about all 4 books are a credit to the auther J R Rice and now that l have finished the final book, l have to say wow wow wow you have got to read them in order to appreciate the story line and l promise you will fall in love with the characters/5().

I went into this book with high expectations after reading Campbell's The Influence but I feel quite let down by The Hungry Moon.

It starts off well. The premise is interesting, with the Jim Jones style cult as the instigator of events that lead down a Lovecraft style of story and tropes/5(21). Hungry Moon-Quicksilver is a priceless gem among the paranormal romance genre.

I simply loved every minute of reading this book. Claudy Conn did an outstanding job creating the world and characters. I loved how everything was explained in detail and I felt like I was right there in the middle of everything/5.

So evil werewolves and spirits are fought, love is made, fae relics are discovered and then the book just cuts off. You have to continue the series to get even the most basic parts of this plot resolved. This was a very jumbled and unsatisfying read. This is a excellent and powerful book /5().
